Finally finished. Weird story happened. 

It had turned winter and I went to get it from the shelf I kept them upstairs and it wasn't there. I looked all over and didn't find it anywhere. I was then looking through my stack of finished quilt tops that are waiting for quilting and there it was, So as it was just before the 4th of July, I put up that runner, that my lovely sister Missy made me and started to quilt this one. 

As a first go in machine quilting, it isn't to bad. I wanted it thin so I backed it but didn't put any liner in,. I don't think I will do that again. At least a flannel in the middle.

My mum made us matching coasters when I visited her last. I love it and use it all the time.  

So I decide to figure out how to make them for myself.

Seems I have forgotten to post some of my finished projects. This one was a kit I got when Miss B and I visited my Mum a few years ago. We both loved it and decided to work on it together.

I did the patchwork, and Miss B did the needlework and then I quilted and finished it off. So happy with the result.

4 Seasons Challenge WQS

My local sewing group, Warburton Quilters and Stitchers, recently held a Biggest Morning Tea to raise some money for the Cancer Council. We did an awesome job raising about $1500. We always create a quilt to raffle off and this year we had done a Grandmother's Garden Hexagon Quilt.

The group also offers a challenge to get folks to think outside of their box. This year it was a 4 Seasons Challenge, sized between postcard size to 12 x 12 for each of the 4 seasons. I didn't win, but had fun making my entry.  When Miss B saw it, she loved it and asked if she could hang it in her apartment, Yeah, big win.
