This was a fun square to do. The little critter seemed to do himself. 

I worked on this one on my trip to Adelaide, SA. There was a little craft store in a little town on the way, Beaufort, called Renee's Cottage. I had always want to stop there, but I either didn't have the time or it was shut. It was open, so I stopped. It is a lovely shop and I found way too much exciting stuff, including a lot of delightful buttons, so the little dude got an acorn.

I did have one problem in that the stabilizer I used to iron down the pieces. It lifted as I was sewing it down. I got it all all done, but had to be careful so the pieces where in the right places.

Proud Mum Moment

My youngest daughter has taken the been inspired and is starting a large project, an embroidered quilt top. She has designed it  and has a definite idea on how she is going to proceed.

She has taken her inspiration from a Celtic Tarot card deck. Here is the first of 25 block, finished and a further 2 ready to embroider.

Easy one, but very effective. I couched the thread down for the Stem and the bindings on the pin cushion. I  like the effect.

I love Hexagons. Have I said that before. This is a bit different and while was a bit leary of it, it was fun and quick to do.

I am on a roll this weekend, planning on doing a few more tomorrow. I have also gotten B and my watercolor Reeds on the quilting frame to do. Love it when they are fun.

I have been hand sewing all my blocks, this block was a problem for me. My lovely mum had a piece of fabric that had accessories, that I do use, so I have started a block with them.

Still needs to be sewn down but this is my block. (see I have been working hard)

Fun today completing a project for a July gift giving

After being reminded yesterday that there was a postcard exchange in July, so I thought I would have a go at making a postcard.

I used some of the scraps that I got while visiting my mum, a group of pinks. I even put some yo-yos on it. I think it is cute.

Today was the exchange, so I will publish this. Here is my exchanged postcard.

With my new baby iron and combination board (thanks mum) I am all set to start this block.

I think this is the hardest of the paper piecing patterns so far.

I was  working very hard to catch up on the sampler challenge, but the next couple where provig to be a massive challenge to me and I found myself getting disinterested. I Hate That. So ... I started to do the ones I could do.

Dashing by Chocolate looked to be a fun on, so I am continuing, just missing a few in the middle (I will get them done, eventually)

I like this type of pattern. It has dimension and can be made quickly when hand sewing.
