Sun glass cases

My sister sent me these lovely gifts for me and my daughters, I think they are for sun glasses. I have found them very useful for my disposable cutlery, that I carry with me at all times.

Seasonal Shelf - Summer

Sumner on the shelf

In the living area of my house, I have a half shelf that has been designated as the Seasonal Shelf. Holidays are easier, but I am determined to have a shelf for every occasion.

Anyway, here is this summers' shelf.  The runner and coaster were made by my mum and sisters.

And just because I can and the fact that she is so cute, a picture of the Grand Duchess Uliana, napping under the cat castle watching out for those pesky birds. *wink*

Easter 2018 Shelf

Holiday Shelf

A shelf in my lounge room has been designated as the holiday shelf. Through the  year I have collected and been gifted many holiday items. I use this shelf to highlight both the holiday and the love that my family has for each other. Table runner, serviette and coaster (in the box) have all been made by my mum and sisters and I think of them at the the change of every season and thank them very much for their love.

What happens to a well loved and used quilt

Back when I was a little kid, my mom found some lovely toweling fabric and made me and my 3 sister wonderful beach coverups and towels. When the day came that they where no longer useful (I am sure we did the normal thing and grew), she made them into this wonderful quilt.

It was on my bed for a while, then used on the sofa to warm little ones in the evening, then my eldest moved out and took it wth her for comfort and warm.

It has been dragged around, washed, cuddled in, washed, used for tea parties on the lawn, washed, in short, very well loved. And now due to be retired.

Gifted Quilts

I have been lucky enough to be given a number of quilts from various quilters with varying skills.

My youngest, knowing of my love of quilts, with no instructions and no experience made this one for me a couple of years ago. She got her elder sister to help with the embroidery but otherwise all done by her.
