Seasonal Shelf - Summer
Sumner on the shelf
In the living area of my house, I have a half shelf that has been designated as the Seasonal Shelf. Holidays are easier, but I am determined to have a shelf for every occasion.
Anyway, here is this summers' shelf. The runner and coaster were made by my mum and sisters.
And just because I can and the fact that she is so cute, a picture of the Grand Duchess Uliana, napping under the cat castle watching out for those pesky birds. *wink*

Easter 2018 Shelf
Holiday Shelf
A shelf in my lounge room has been designated as the holiday shelf. Through the year I have collected and been gifted many holiday items. I use this shelf to highlight both the holiday and the love that my family has for each other. Table runner, serviette and coaster (in the box) have all been made by my mum and sisters and I think of them at the the change of every season and thank them very much for their love.Baby Quilt from long ago
For Richard, my husbands Godson
I was going through the photos and found a photo of this quilt I did in the early 1980s. We where on our way to Australia and found the little sheep skin boots. We presented them to friends Bruce and Katha for the addition to their family.

Cottage Garden Thread Table Runner
This has been my go to project for the past year. I have done it everywhere, Hawaii, at stitching days,
even while waiting at the hospital.
I will get it done, as it is over half way done. Again as soon as I have a break for a bit.
My Cousins Wedding Quilt
One of My First Quilts
When my cousin got married, I thought I would make her a quilt. I contacted all the close relatives and got them to embroider a square to add to the quilt. To finish it off, I tried through the corners of the squares.
I didn't get a photo if it, so a while back I asked my cousin if she still had it and if she would photograph it for me to put up here.
Here is what she sent me.
Student has success
Miss J's first project
Miss J decided she would like to learn to embroider, so I took her on as a student. Here is the first project she did. She designed and executed the entire thing herself. This is a photo from the video that we did as she showed to to us.
and then she put her initials on a hankie.
Opera Star Miss J
Miss J
My youngest's best friend and one I consider an adopted daughter is an amazing opera singer. When I saw the fabric for this, it had to be made into a quilt for her.

The finished quilt.
Details of the hand quilting.
To finish it off, I mad a pillow case that the folded quilt fit into, to make it easier for her to take traveling with her
