Helping B with Quilt for Ilana
B decided to base this quilt on the Jane Austen design, in reds and with black sashing. She came and raided my stash (with permission) and we didn't have to purchase any fabric for the top except the black and the backing.

New Hexagon - Block 48 Jeannie
New Hexagon - Block 48 Jeannie
no it doesn't look like the one in the pattern, but I didn't notice until I was looking for the photo of it. Its all sewn in and it will stay as is. (the little triangles should have been coming off the centre hexagon to create a star, this way it is the same design as Number 3)

Birthday Postcards
2019 Birthday Postcards
Our sewing group has a postcard exchange for member with 0 and 5 birthdays, so every 5 years you get a postcard. I have been making up a theme for every year. This year I have made these. They are fun and a lovely way to share with the birthday person

I got a kit to do these lovely little fairys. While these are spring time fairys, I hope to make some for other season also, to add to my season shelf collections

BMT Challenge
WQ&S 2019 Biggest Morning Tea Challenge was something about the Yarra Valley. All the Squares are going to be used in a wall hanging for the CFA or the Museum.
I decided to do the Lilyday-Warbuton train, whose track was converted into a walking trail. I used this old photo of the day the last train ran on Sunday, 1 August 1965.

Mother's Day 2019
Present from my eldest daughter,
A very talented daughter, who rarely buys us presents, but takes the time to craft some awesome gifts.
This one is a pelican on a small agate disk, with a sand plant. It is no taller then 1 inch, so tiny and delicate.

Portraits of Baron Rudolf and Baroness Nicolette
I friend of mine, Avril, did these for us years ago. She did it from photos and they are extremely well done, even if we are looking a bit severe looking. I found them recently in a box of old stuff. I am sending them off to get framed so that I can hang them.

Playing with a Embroidery Machine
My friend, Cathy, invited me over one day to play with her embroidery machine. She hadnt used it in a while and used me as a student, while she brought her skills up again, remembering as she went along. It was a lovely afternoon. We were also entertained by her 'puppies'.
